Parish
Plans provide an opportunity for local communities to identify
issues of importance to their area and to develop solutions to
address these needs.
What are they?
Parish
Plans are intended to set out a framework for local communities
to plan their own futures, allowing them to identify issues, which
are important to them such as affordable housing, transport, education
and skills etc. and to set these out in a clear statement.
They
can be used to prioritise the main concerns of local people and
to develop a consensus of how these concerns can be addressed.
A
completed plan can be used to lobby and influence statutory agencies
such as local authorities, local health trusts, development agencies
and others in order that such concerns can be noted in statutory
planning.
Parish
Plans can be used to support applications for funding to support
local projects and also encourage local communities and statutory
organisations to engage in joint working to develop and deliver
solutions to address locally identified issues where it is feasible
and practical to do so.
